As you may have noticed on facebook, we have also been working hard on making SoulCraft available for iOS. Then we will submit it to Apple to have it approved which can also take 1-2 weeks. We will keep you posted!

But now have fun with the best SoulCraft ever :)

For the record - here is our official press release for SoulCraft 0.7.1:

04/24/2012

SoulCraft Open Beta releases new update 0.7.1 featuring an awesome new progress unlock system

•    SoulCraft is a free2play Action RPG which will be eventually released on all platforms (starting with Android, iOS, WP7, PC, Windows 8, …)
•    The latest upgrade includes a new unlock & progress system: now the players can see immediately which new locations, items, enemies & more they have unlocked when reaching a new character level
•    SoulCraft has been shown on Google’s Android booth at the Mobile World Congress 2012 in Barcelona and has had its first appearance at NVIDIA’s CES keynote with a specially optimized version for Tegra powered devices
•    SoulCraft is still in open beta which means that we are having a new release every few weeks with changes based on the feedback we get from the community.
•    SoulCraft is about the fight of angels, demons & humans for supremacy on earth Watch the trailer of the game here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VDWDgTkuDXc

Slowly maturing from the beta into a complete game, SoulCraft has just added a cool new progress system, which unlocks additional content based on the player’s character advancement. “Our testers wanted to get a better overview what they have achieved and whats more to come” says Karsten Wysk, CEO of MobileBits.

“Besides lots of other updates & bugfixes, we also added a new item shop which allows the player to buy the items he wants directly” adds Boje Holtz, Producer of Soulcraft. “Please continue to give us feedback so we can make SoulCraft even better!”.

Players are invited to take part in the open beta to continuously tweak and improve the game. The best starting point for this is http://soulcraftgame.com/feedback.html and please also check out our roadmap: http://SoulCraftGame.com/roadmap.html

New Progress / Unlock System coming up - beware of character reset!

by Karsten Wysk 17. April 2012 19:41

If all goes well we will upload the next version of SoulCraft this thursday night (European time) and this update will include an all new progress / unlock system. With each gained character level you will unlock new things like new enemies, spells etc.

The new version will also feature an improved inventory & shop which will allow you to buy exactly the spell you want - you no longer have to rely on the "random" shop to get you the stuff you want! So lots of exciting features coming up which we will write in greater detail about very soon.

However this extensive updates makes it necessary to reset all characters. Your accounts will continue to work but you will have to create a new character. SoulCraft is currently in beta after all and we really would love you to test the new progress system. Thank you very much for your understanding!

Of course you will get back all the gold you have bought so far - so nothing is lost here!

Happy testing and thanks for your feedback!

SoulCraft 0.6.1 released - awesome start for SoulCraft for all Android

by Karsten Wysk 29. March 2012 18:28

We were pretty happy with the downloads of SoulCraft before the "All Android release SoulCraft 0.6" but yesterday was really amazing for all of us here at the SoulCraft team. As you can see on the chart below - SoulCraft really took off - thank you very much for all the interest to help us in this Open Beta!

With lots of beta testers naturally you found more bugs and thats why we just released a quick release with SoulCraft 0.6.1 fixing the following issues (no new content download necessary):

  • increase speed of character Angel (now always 100% speed, in 0.6 angel was at 85% speed slowly rising up to character level 10 ..but you did not like it)
  • Default control scheme is now fixed, you can change it to dynamic controls in the settings
  • Decrease controller size by 20%
  • Buying Gold on mobile phones actually works now
  • If our server is down, you can still play the game even if you dont have an account yet

Have fun and keep the bugs coming - thank you!!!

•    The latest release also includes the completely new location “Great Wall of China”

After over 100.000 downloads on Tegra powered Android devices in just 2 months after the initial release without any marketing, SoulCraft is finally available for (almost) all Android devices. “This has been the number one request from our beta testers”, says Karsten Wysk, CEO of MobileBits. “People with Tegra devices were very happy with the game but their friends without Tegra devices also wanted to play”.

Both the Tegra powered and non-Tegra version of the game have just been shown on the Google Android booth at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona 2012. “We have been very proud to be selected by Google to show off our game at the official Android booth based on the quality of the game – even though we are still in beta”, says Boje Holtz, Producer of SoulCraft. “We also hope that players will agree that the new location China is the best location so far”.

Players are invited to take part in the open beta to continuously tweak and improve the game. The best starting point for this is http://soulcraftgame.com/feedback.html and please also check out our roadmap: http://SoulCraftGame.com/roadmap.html

New "Gold Location" Great Wall of China explained

by Karsten Wysk 22. March 2012 12:06

As you can see on our roadmap the latest update of SoulCraft will also feature a new location: The Great Wall of China. You may have noticed that this is a "Gold location" and may ask yourself: WTF is a Gold location? :)
We mean "Gold location" in 2 ways: First China is currently the most beautiful location in the game. We tried a slightly different art style and we really like it ..and hope you agree. So the first way to see it is: Gold locations have "gold standard" quality :)
The second way to explain what Gold locations are is this: As you know SoulCraft is a free2play game: You can play the game for free and only if you want to you can spend some real money to improve the gaming experience. To be honest: currently lots of people are playing the game and enjoying it but not enough people are spending real money yet. Harsh reality is that we need at least enough money to pay the team working on the game and we are not there yet ... and thats why we are experimenting with these Gold locations to improve monetization of the game. We simply hope that more people will buy Gold at least once to be able to play the new awesome China location.

So the rule for the Gold locations is: Buy Gold at least once and you become a "Gold member" for life. This allows you to play all "Gold content" including the new China location (and more Gold content coming up). It does not matter if you spent all your gold - you will still be able to access "Gold content" once you have become a "Gold member".

Of course this does not mean that all new cool stuff will be "Gold content". We will of course also add lots of new stuff to the "normal" game as well!

Thanks for your feedback and have fun playing the game!

Teaser of new location: The Great Wall of China

by Karsten Wysk 14. March 2012 18:00

The next big update of SoulCraft is just around the corner - we will finish it this week, test it over the weekend and if all goes well we will release it on Monday morning (European time). This new update will have lots of improvements which we are excited about (e.g. running on a lot more Android devices!) and it will feature a new location: The Great Wall of China. China will also feature an improved art style which we hope you like .. what do you think? Please see screenshot below :)

•    MobileBits will show off a version running on both Samsung Galaxy Nexus and the Tegra 3 device Asus Transformer Prime
•    SoulCraft will be available as a free download on Galaxy Nexus devices at the beginning of the MWC in the Android Market™.
•    It is already available and especially optimized for NVIDIA Tegra devices since about a month and has been featured by NVIDIA at CES 2011 & 2012 and in the Tegra Zone
•    SoulCraft is in open beta which means that we are having a release every 2 weeks with changes based on the feedback we get from the community.
•    SoulCraft is about the fight of angels, demons & humans for supremacy on earth Watch the trailer of the game here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VDWDgTkuDXc

MobileBits has a nice surprise for the MWC in Barcelona: they will show off its Action-RPG SoulCraft using Android Beam: players can instantly challenge each other or play coop together with the Android™ Beam as matchmaking.

“Imagine 2 friends waiting for a bus”, says Karsten Wysk, CEO of MobileBits. “using Android Beam they can now instantly play together without having to work themselves through complicated buddy lists or matchmaking systems”.

Players can test this new feature at the Google booth at the Mobile World Congress. MobileBits will release a new version of SoulCraft running on Galaxy Nexus at the start of MWC – however this public version does not feature the multiplayer mode yet. “We know from the feedback we get from the open beta that players really want Multiplayer" says Boje Holtz, Producer of SoulCraft. “Therefore we will release it for everybody very soon – however for the moment it will be an exclusive preview for the MWC audience”.

MobileBits will discuss the progress of the game with its developer diary on http://SoulCraftGame.com/

SoulCraft comes to Barcelona and to Galaxy Nexus

by Karsten Wysk 26. February 2012 14:39

A few weeks ago we were very happy to get invited by Google to show our game SoulCraft at the Android booth at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. Of course we said yes and worked our a**es off to make the version in time. We will keep you updated in the next week about what exactly we are showing in Barcelona.

However there is also one small trade off: we were not able to finish the Samsung Galaxy S2 version in time as originally planned. It is planned for in 2 weeks now. Sorry for the small delay! Good news is: we just released a version for Samsung Galaxy Nexus :)
